Meet Teen Model Caydence Jackson, Making A Statement In The Fashion Industry
(Featured Photo credit: Asha Alessandra)
Caydence one day seeks an acting career and crosses her fingers that she will one day meet the talented Zendaya who was once a child star herself. She emulates child-like wonder when she is snacking down on a bag of Takis or dancing in her room, but when she hits the stage, she is a marvel to watch. While she is cool and confident, Jackson will always be one to serve a look and keep brands on their heels.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am an 11-year-old runway and print model from Pennsylvania. I love the runway and the camera but I also love God, gymnastics, dancing, and singing. I spend my free time doing nails and make up as well as inspiring other girls like myself. I have been modeling for 4 years now and I still love doing it just as much as I did when I first started.
We have been following you for a few months now on social media. Can you tell us what inspired you to become a model?
WOW!! Thank You!! I love getting glam’d up and have loved fashion since I was really young! I was bullied years ago for my weight. I felt that by becoming a model so young I could encourage other young ladies to know that they are beautiful too and encourage the bullies to see that if you are kind and have confidence, then you’re beautiful.
Being a professional model requires a lot of discipline, do you still get to do fun stuff ?
It does! A lot of discipline, but my mom makes sure that I have what she calls a healthy balance. I go to the mall, trampoline parks, family gatherings, and travel outside of the runway. Mom taught me that when we prioritize the right way we can always find time or the things that are really important to us.
Do you have any hobbies?
Yes, I love to do nails and practice make up. I love doing hair. I love to dance, sing, flip and tumble. Oh! And I love creating a spa for myself at home and enjoying “me time” ! Ha! Ha!
You are truly a role model for pre-teens and teens, what advice would you give someone who wanted to follow in your footsteps?
I would tell them to first love yourself. Embrace everything about who you are because God made you and you are beautiful! Then, I would tell them to build a social media following that their mom can watch for them and post as much content of themselves modeling as they can. You do not have to be on an actual runway to take runway walk videos or in an actual studio to take good pictures and post content.
Ask your parents to find shows and casting calls so that you can go and audition. You can do and be anything you’d like as long as you work hard.
Have you worked with any famous supermodels or who would you like to work with in the near future?
I have had workshops with supermodel Guetcha when I walked in the LA Fashion Week TME show. I have also made a walk video with Norman Freeman! I hope to one day work with Zendaya, Eva Marcille, Ashley Graham, Cynthia Bailey, and Naomi Campbell!
Who would you like to thank for always being there for you in and outside of your career?
Definitely my God and my whole family! My mom and sister never miss a show and my mom believes in me so much. My brother also is so supportive! And of course my father or “Dadager” as he loves to be called!
Do you have anything else you want to share with our readers?
Thank you all for supporting me; I love you all. All dreams can become reality with prayers, hard work, and support. It is important to believe in yourself just as much as you believe in those you love the most! You are beautiful, loved, deserving and worthy too.
