A New Thing

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I
will even make a road in the wilderness; And rivers in the dessert. (Isaiah 43:19)
Here’s some food for thought.
Many of us seek ways to improve our lives. We want to live comfortably. Less
stress and more stability. We want to find a companion or strengthen the
relationship we have with the one we may have. We want to travel more and work
less. Possibly advance on our jobs or see growth in our ministries.
Just remember when you ask for change, for advancement or for growth, you are
actually asking for disruption. No one moves to a new location without disruption. No one plants a new seed without disturbing or disrupting the soil. No one enters the dawning of a new day
without the darkness of the night. New beginnings are always, messy, stressful, uncomfortable and creates disorientation. We are wired to seek comfort and avoid the unknown.
Starting over moves you out of your comfort zone and pushes you into a space where your faith
is stretched. You must rely on a power, or a strength which is greater than yours. In the midst of the new, don’t abort the plan. Steady yourself, get rooted in the promises of God and find your center in the word of God. While the winds are swirling, remind yourself that God is in control and he has already paved the path for your success.
Don’t look at the situations, look for your God that controls the situation. Know his voice above the voices in your head. He will lead you through the doubt that chaos creates in the midst of change. No matter what it looks like, block out the distractions and stay focused. You will eventually see the road in the wilderness, you will drink from the river in the dessert.
Remind yourself of what he’s done before and be confident of this, that he who
began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ
Jesus. Get ready for your New Thing!
