Houston’s very own Slim Thug, a renowned rapper and hometown hero, brought the spirit of Halloween to his community by hosting a Spooktacular meet & greet and Halloween Party on October 28th. The event took place at the Checkers Restaurant located at 17155 Eastex Freeway Service Rd. in Houston, Texas. This gathering was more than just a fun Halloween celebration; it was a heartwarming initiative that brought together over 150 guests, including kids, families, and fans, all dressed in their spooky and creative costumes.
The event was filled with excitement, featuring music spun by DJ J-Que, delicious food, entertaining games, exciting prizes, and a unique opportunity for attendees to meet and take pictures with Slim Thug himself. What set this Halloween celebration apart was the fact that proceeds from each meal sold that day were dedicated to supporting a local non profit organization called CoolxDad. This organization is on a noble mission to promote and support minority fathers in raising their children.
Slim Thug’s partnership with CoolxDad goes beyond just a one-time event. It represents a commitment to raising awareness for CoolxDad’s annual holiday programming, known as “Color Box.” This holiday initiative aims to spread joy and make a positive impact in the lives of families in the Houston area. “Color Box” includes a free holiday portrait session for families and a heartwarming gift drive that delivers hand-wrapped toys, electronics, clothing, and other goodies to children in need.
